Tony McDonald of Darlington, Wisconsin, driving “Well Spent” was the best of fourteen pullers in the Hot Farm class with a pull of just over 303 feet. The 1.950 pound Open Mini-Rod class was won by Eric Johnson of Durand, Illinois, piloting “Blown Money.”Ĭlosing out the night were two of the most popular pulling divisions from Badger State: Hot Farm and Super Farm Tractors. Ken Tatroe of Milton, Wisconsin, was best in the 1,850 pound Econo Mini Rods driving the “Attitude Adjuster.” Next it was time for the three classes of Tri County Mini Rods to fire up and take on the fast pulling surface.Ĭindy Thompson of Janseville, Wisconsin, won the Limited Mini Rods driving “Way Cool.” Picking up the win was Joe Wiltse from Maple Park, Illinois. The first of the three Badger State Tractor Pulling classes was the 4×4 Pro Street Diesel division. Nick Brugger of Monroe, Wisconsin, won the spectator diesel division while Eli Gehrke of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, had the best pull in the spectator gas division. However, before the two series began their competition, a pair of spectator truck pulling classes had the honors of getting the first pulls. It was a day that many had been looking forward to with great anticipation as it was the season opener for both the Badger State Tractor Pullers and the Tri County Mini-Rods with each series bringing three of their divisions to MIS. All of the ingredients were in place including perfect weather, a great track, and solid field of tractors and trucks. Jude.ĭuring our usual season, we see between 13-15 pulls on our schedule, going to places like Afton, Browntown, Durand, Ill., Argyle, Footville, Monticello and many others in between. at the biggest indoor winter tractor pull event helping them raise close to $50,000 each year that is all donated to St. Each year the CATP club has donated money to the Mean Green Pulling team in Tunica, Miss. It is another big money class and a dirt churning good time. The two day event has a couple classes sponsored by the group and many of our members participate in the event. In March, the CATP supports the Sigourney, Iowa Spring Classic Pull. The event takes place around Memorial Day and is a great way to start off the season. Four additional weight classes are created where competitors go up against each other to see who can win $500. Our Annual $2K pull day in Brooklyn has as many as 200 people show up to a small town on the border of Green and Dane County to enjoy some fun together. Our first event is one of our biggest participating pull and biggest payout as well. We pride ourselves on accepting anyone with the passion for tractor pulling as long as they don’t beat us on our own tractors. We have 70+ members in our club from all over southern Wisconsin, with some in northern Wisconsin, northern Illinois, Iowa and a few in Minnesota as well. The Community Antique Tractor Pullers are just as the name states: a group of antique tractor loving people who love to compete to see who is better at pulling a hunk of metal down a dirt or blacktop road.
